You are kindly invited to join us on 23 May at the Ljubljana Botanical Garden for the opening of the Magic Forest installation, created especially for the Lighting Guerrilla festival by the children who attended Saturday workshops.

This past January saw the 8th edition of the Bobri (Beavers) Festival stage a workshop for the youngest, who designed elements of the forest from trees and bushes to animals and more, under the mentorship of comic book author and illustrator David Krančan. With the help of a technician they transferred their motifs to the computer and used a laser cutter to cut their designs out of coloured plexiglass. Led by Janez Cimerman, their mentor in electronics, they wired up individual elements and assembled them into a light installation programmed so as to create different images that reveal the secrets of life in the forest simply by switching on particular elements.

Workshop participants: Jan Bavdek, Jaša Despotovič, Arne Furlan Štular, Kristjan Gradnik, Pia Kreže, Korina Lara Janez, Freja Mehle, Tilen Mehle, Jon Novak, Ruben Osojnik Jurečič, Val Satler and Lovro Smrekar.

Mentors: David Krančan, Janez Cimerman in Tomo Per.

Coproduction: Forum Ljubljana–- Festival Lighting Guerrilla and Botanical Garden Ljubljana.

Acknowledgement: MakerLab Ljubljana.
