Images of Ljubljana, a series of embroidery postcards, was conceived within the frame of the project Textile Souvenirs for Museum Shops, which took place in cooperation with the Department for Textile and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana. The aim of the project was to – through the research of contemporary materials and technologies – encourage new design interpretations and new uses for souvenirs. The series of postcards by Sofija Urumović combines the traditional with the contemporary. With its dense microfiber structure and smooth surface, the light textile foil Tyvek® has proven to be the perfect material for computer-operated machine embroidery, which embroiders images of selected Ljubljana buildings from various historical periods.

The software for the embroidery machine was partially sponsored by Singer Service.
Free technical support and printing was provided by Grafos.
